To sign up for either service as a Con Edison customer, grab your account information and head over to the coned.com website. Signing up only takes a few minutes, and can save a lot of time and hassle in bill management later down the line.
Signing Up For eBilling
On the Con Edison homepage, click the “Enroll in e*bill” button under the main image, then click the green “Enroll Now” button. At this stage you will be asked to enter details relating to your account, including your Con Ed account number and address. Once you have entered these details, you can confirm the set up of your account to get started.
You can login to your new account on the Con Edison homepage at coned.com. Enter your account username in the box on the left hand side, and your password to gain access your online account area. If you happen to forget either of these details, you can also reset them using the links underneath each field.
From your account, you will be able to manage and update your billing and personal preferences, as well check your monthly usage reports, statements and bills. You can also make payments by credit or debit card, to pay off your monthly balance.
Con Ed Direct Pay
The Direct Pay service is particularly useful for those who want to automate their billing and payment, making sure they never miss a bill. Con Edison deducts the relevant billing amount from your account automatically on a monthly basis, so there’s no action required from your part to cover the bill. In combination with the eBill service, this means you receive no paper statement, and there are no bills to physically pay – Con Edison deducts the amount you owe, when you owe it, so there’s nothing to worry about month to month.
Alternative Payment Methods
If you choose not to sign up for the Direct Payment Plan, Con Edison also make it possible for you to pay your bill online. Click the Pay My Bill link and enter your credit or debit card details to make a payment to your account. If you have signed up for eBilling, you can check how much you need to pay before making a payment. If you haven’t signed up for online billing, you will need to consult your most recent monthly paper bill to check how much to pay.
